Thoughts on Sunlight Seekers...
I set up and photographed these tulips last March, when the sun was still somewhat low in the sky in my favorite dramatic light. Photographing some of my favorite flowers in favorite light was a total joy.
I composed this with the sight line just below the tall vase, because when we look up at something, it becomes more important. For me, these flowers capture a small part of the grandeur of the natural world.
This painting is on canvas in a floater frame with a gilded front face.
