Max Hammond: “New Places, New Spaces” “A Migration of Butterflies
Imagine a swarm of butterflies migrating across the sky. Famously known as a “kaleidoscope of butterflies,” this metaphor perfectly expresses the latest works of noted abstract artist Max Hammond. A migration is more than an urge, it is an inherent need to move, mirroring Hammond’s need to paint. Much like the colorful movement of butterflies across the sky, Hammond intentionally and artfully moves color across a canvas, creating a kaleidoscope of hues in his distinctive works. This exhibition symbolizes a journey, an instinct to both migrate and roam. In these new paintings, we witness the flits of color that Hammond has artfully manipulated to create his always pleasing panorama of colors.
