Christi Manuelito: Influential Dialogues

Overview

"Influential Dialogues" is a groundbreaking new exhibition by artist Christi Manuelito, five years in the making. Drawing inspiration from imagined conversations with the artists who have shaped her career, Manuelito offers a deeply personal exploration of creative influence and artistic legacy.
Manuelito’s profound connection with Elizabeth Murray lies at the heart of this exhibition. Murray’s playful yet groundbreaking approach to abstraction inspired Manuelito to find her voice as an artist early in her career. In her piece "Murray, Bop & Me", influenced by Murray’s "Bop", Manuelito weaves Murray’s aesthetic with her own innovative process, creating a contemporary homage that is both fresh and relevant.

Manuelito's works reflect a melding of artistic inspiration and her signature style. Other pieces in this exhibit are centered on dialogues with artists Stuart Davis, Milt Kobayashi, Yayoi Kusama, Charles Arnoldi, Gene Davis, Gary Lang and Fernand Leger.

An artist reception will be held in New York on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5–8 PM.
