Nathan Fischer: Strata Elevated

For this exhibition, Fischer explores the delicate balance between simplicity and detail. Inspired by the tranquil meeting of land and sea, his work reflects how landscapes that appear minimal from a distance reveal rich texture, pattern, and color upon closer inspection.

Drawing from the subtle shifts of coastal environments, Fischer rearranges and abstracts natural hues into compositions that feel both familiar and universal. His process transforms simple geometric forms and layered surfaces into meditative works that echo the language of the landscape.

Fischer’s artistic foundation was shaped at the Monterey Sculpture Center, his father’s bronze foundry, where he developed a deep understanding of casting and a signature expertise in patina. Today, he merges time-honored bronze techniques with a painterly sensibility, creating textured surfaces that convey depth and atmosphere while bridging tradition and contemporary abstraction.

This exhibition marks Fischer’s latest collaboration with Bonner David Galleries and highlights his continued evolution as a contemporary artist.
