Sugar Rush, No Cavities: Bonner David Galleries Serves Up “Sweet” for the Summer in Scottsdale

This summer, Bonner David Galleries presents "Sweet", a vibrant group exhibition celebrating the playful intersection of color, nostalgia, and indulgence. On view June 25 through July 16, the exhibition transforms familiar confections and childhood memories into imaginative works of contemporary art.

Featuring works by Karen Shapiro, John Schieffer, Jane Jones, Francis Livingston, Robert Johnson, Henry Stinson, Gabriele Koenig Rewis, Kathrine Lempke Waste, and Peter Anton, Sweet explores the visual language of candy and popular culture through a variety of artistic approaches. From hyperreal imagery to whimsical interpretations, each artist brings a unique perspective to themes of delight, memory, and sensory experience.

Bold palettes, rich textures, and playful compositions invite viewers into a world that is both familiar and unexpected—where everyday treats become objects of fascination and artistic expression.

The exhibition’s featured celebration will take place on July 9 from 6–9 PM at 7040 East Main Street during the Scottsdale Summer Spectacular ArtWalk. Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and summer energy in the heart of Scottsdale’s gallery district.

In a season defined by heat and color, Sweet offers a refreshing and visually engaging escape that lingers long after the visit.
